I used to have a blog.
This is what happens when you abandon your blog, it leaves you forever. I should have known.
Today I start a new blog. I have attempted several times to be a healthier person. It always seems to start with a blog. So here I am. Ready to begin again. This time I have the support of two health care specialists and my doctor. They have me starting Wagovy next week. I'll start with a low dose and gradually move up to the highest dose. One member of my healthcare team is a dietician/nutritionist and she is helping me adjust my Everyplate subscription to be healthier by lowering the carbs and saturated fats. My brother helped me develop the nerdiest nutrition Google sheet that will help me select the best meals based on nutrition from the 17 recipes I get to choose from once a week. So I plan to document my progress, not for the rare occasion of a reader here but for me. So that I can look back on what worked and what didn't. So many people are tired of food pics but you know, I am always trying to please, to not offend, to not annoy and I think I am claiming this space as MY domain. I might share it, I might not. Regardless, today is the day I commit to change.
I started by using myfitnesspal to record my meals so that I can get the Nutrition added up as well as the macros. I have access to Weight Watchers but I don't really know if that is going to benefit me. Using a carb counting process and a point process is confusing. I plan on talking about this with my nutritionist tomorrow. I'm also using PocketDoc to track my meals so that my team sees what I am putting in my body. That means I have to tell on myself when I eat an entire bag of Flaming Hot Cheetos. I am hoping the sheer horror of the idea of that will persuade me to lay off the crap.
Today I started with a beautiful breakfast. I found these pre-made stuffed mushrooms at Vons. One had cheese and pico de gallo, the other had mozzarella and jalapeno and the last had mozzarella and spinach. I figured this would not entirely hold me over till lunch time so I added an egg and 3 rounds of roasted sweet potato. It was really delicious and filling, plus it looked so fabulous I had to show it off on social media. Here is a photo:
For lunch I went shopping to make wraps for my husband and I. I picked up peppered turkey, heirloom tomato, avocado, and provolone all wrapped in a leaf of Romaine. I found these hilarious big blueberries from Sprouts called Jumbo Blueberries so I threw 6 in a cup with 6 raspberries. This is that meal:
For Dinner, I had an EveryPlate Meal. This one was called Sweet Ginger Stir-Fry Bowl with Bell Pepper and Scallion Rice. To make it low carb I swapped out the rice for cauliflower rice from Cascadian farms. It was pretty delicious and filling. I would definitely make it again. Here is a photo of that one:
It's almost midnight so I'm going to wrap this up. I did have popcorn today at the movie theatre. I start the Wegovy injections on Monday so I am enjoying my favorite things that I know are not going to be things I can enjoy once I am on Wegovy. Not going overboard, but I did enjoy it. I'll try and log tomorrow as well. TaTa! Ciao! See ya! Buh-bye! ok I sleep now.
